Local 47 Board Endorses Medicare For All – Urgent Action Needed

This week the AFM Local 47 Executive Board passed a motion to endorse HR 1384, the Medicare for All Act of 2019.

The Los Angeles City Council has introduced a resolution in support of Medicare for All, and we need to make sure it comes up for a vote. If the city passes this resolution, it will be the largest city in the country to make an official endorsement of Medicare for All. That’s huge — but we need your help to get there.

It only takes 2 minutes, and every public comment helps. If enough L.A. residents flood their inbox with public comments demanding a vote, they will listen.

Help us get Los Angeles to join cities like Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco, and more in passing a resolution to support Medicare for All.

The majority of people with sleep apnea don’t even realize they have it. But if you suffer from this disorder, you may have been told that you snore loudly and gasp for air when sleeping. And you may be extremely sleepy during the day and have trouble concentrating. Continue reading

Affordable Health Care Act: Important reminder from AFM Secretary/Treasurer Sam Folio

AFM - American Federation of Musicians of the United States and Canada
December 3, 2015

Dear Member:

I don’t know about you, but I hate feeling rushed when I’m shopping for something important.

This is especially true for health care for me and my family, and an important deadline is coming up. December 15th  is the last day to enroll, renew or change your Marketplace insurance plan and have coverage begin on January 1, 2016.

That’s why we’re reaching out. Working America Health Care is here to help connect you to the right insurance plan on the Marketplace for 2016.

Don’t wait until December 15th. Hold times can be especially long around deadlines. Call 888-276-2580 or visit our website to connect today.

Many Working America members like you already have found affordable coverage this year. If you sign up through us, our recommended licensed professionals will be there to help do the same for you. They will answer questions and compare options together with you—at no extra cost.

After you sign up for a plan, we’ve still got your back. Our exclusive Health Advocate service* will be there in 2016, providing assistance with issues like doctor searches or negotiating medical claims.

The New Year can be a crazy time, but choosing your health plan should be hassle-free. Visit WorkingAmericaHealthCare.org before Dec. 15 to begin the no-stress search.

Fraternally,

Sam Folio
International Secretary-Treasurer
