Victory for Our Jobs! Send a Thank You to Our Supporters in Sacramento

Together, we did it!

Legislation that expands the funding  and modernization of California’s Film and Television Jobs Program have officially passed and been signed into law by Governor Newsom.  We achieved this because of your advocacy, your stories, and your determination to protect the jobs that keep this industry alive.

Now we’re asking you to take one more step:

Send a quick thank-you letter to the lawmakers who made this happen.

It only takes a minute, but it sends a powerful message: we see their leadership in standing with us, and we’ll continue to show up and speak out when it matters.

This wasn’t easy. Lawmakers faced a tough budget year and competing priorities, but they heard from you, and they listened. They recognized the urgency of the moment and the importance of sustaining middle-class union jobs, supporting small businesses, and protecting the union jobs that power this industry in California.

With the passage of AB 1138 and the approval of $750 million in annual funding, both critical pieces of the program will now go into effect together. That means more opportunities, stronger job protections, and a better future for our members across the state.

We’re especially grateful to Governor Gavin Newsom, who made this funding a priority and stood firmly with entertainment workers. And to Assemblymember Rick Zbur and Senator Ben Allen, who led the charge in the Legislature and never wavered in their commitment to working people. From the very beginning, they made it clear: this was about jobs, and they were going to fight for them.

This win belongs to YOU. Let’s keep the momentum going, and together, we’ll Keep California RollingTo learn more about our California Film & Television Jobs Program 4.0, head to KeepCaliforniaRolling.org
