Serena Williams — So many have expressed how much Serena inspired and supported them. She guided them through the ups and downs and the joy of our life of music.

I was one of those young musicians who came to Los Angeles in the late ’70s and walked into Local 47 to become a member of the UNION!

Serena taught me so much — she and Earl were quite the team…

She shared her amazing history of Local 47 through the years and as Secretary/Treasurer began the Local’s very important relationship with the LA County Federation of Labor and the entertainment unions and guilds.

She will be missed, but her legacy lives on through all of the musicians she touched and the joy and love she brought to our Local.
