Don Randi Delights at Concert & Book Signing

On the evening of Nov. 19, living legend Don Randi hosted a free concert and book signing in the Local 47 Serena Kay & Earl Williams Auditorium.

His new book “You’re Heard These Hands,” co-authored by Karen “Nish” Nishimura, tells of his journey through the musical landscape of Southern California, from the “Wall of Sound” to the Wrecking Crew of studio musicians during the explosive pop music era of the 1960s and early 1970s, and other incredible stories. A longtime fixture in the Los Angeles area, Don Randi is best known as the proprietor of the Studio City club The Baked Potato and for his leadership of a popular fusion/crossover group, Quest. Since moving to the Los Angeles area in 1954 he has been a busy studio musician playing keyboard & piano as part of the famed collective dubbed The Wrecking Crew, appearing on and writing for a countless number of motion picture and television soundtracks, commercials and pop albums.
